about the company
Mad as Birds was founded in 2001 by Peggy Case and Mary Brennan, who together have many years of media and production experience. The company is currently working on a number of narrative and documentary projects.
The National Goat Show is a feature-length documentary exploring the lives of dairy goat breeders as they prepare for and compete at the annual ADGA National Show.
It's "the Super Bowl of Goats," as one character says.
Competitors at the show come from every walk of life. All have fallen prey to the unique charm of an animal that exists somewhere in the gray area between livestock and pet: as intelligent as a dog, incredibly productive, and almost irresistibly charming.
The intensely personal Taipei Journal chronicles the inner life of one young woman, diagnosed with an unpredictable form of muscular dystrophy, as she courageously navigates treacherous emotional and physical terrain.
Refusing to become a prisoner of a body she cannot always rely on, she travels to Taiwan alone to experience a world outside her everyday reality. While there she explores her passion for art and her own shifting identity.
